Due to extreme weather conditions, the conditions at the park with the tents and wind, the driving conditions predicted at race time and afterward--and under the direction of the city of Kalamazoo Park Management: The 2015 Tutu Run powered by Honor Credit Union has been cancelled. The safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff is our number one priority and for that reason we have made the difficult decision to cancel the event this afternoon.
Event shirts for volunteers and registered runners may be picked up at our office located at 157 S. Kalamazoo Mall, Suite 70 (on the lower level of the Mall Plaza building) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-3pm. As stated on our registration waiver, this event has a no-refund policy. Events are not able to be rescheduled due to the logistical constraints of our program. The Tutu Run is an annual fundraiser and all proceeds go to Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run program scholarships.
You may still participate in the TUTU CONTEST! We will accept photo submissions of the 2015 Tutu Run costume you would have worn today. In order to provide a safe experience for all participants and volunteers, we have created a process for managing severe weather in conjunction with the Tutu Run. Weather forecasts are tracked before the event for snow, freezing/heavy rain, high winds and extreme cold. If there is a possibility of threatening weather, information will be posted here on the Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run web site. The event will go on in light rain or snow. Layer your clothing appropriately for low temperatures!
