Sandy Barry-Loken
Director

Sandy Barry-Loken serves as the director of the Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run. Sandy earned a B.S. in Public Relations with a minor in Journalism and a M.A. in Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. She became a part of the Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run staff in March of 2003 and has loved seeing Girls on the Run forever change the lives of the girls, women and men who have been touched by the program. Prior to coming to Girls on the Run, Sandy served as the Director of Student Activities & Leadership Programs at WMU. Sandy began running when she was a junior in high school, but found a real passion for running when she was an adult. She continues to be inspired by the girls and completed her first marathon in 2005. Sandy and her husband Brian live in Kalamazoo and have three children.

Beth Gregory-Wallis
Program Coordinator

Beth Gregory-Wallis is a program coordinator for Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run. Beth holds a B.A. in Health Education and an M.A. in Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology, both from Western Michigan University. Girls on the Run touched Beth's heart when she attended the first Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run 5K Celebration in 2002, and she knew someday she would become part of the program. Beth later served as a Girls on the Run coach and then volunteered on the Girls on the Run operations committee. She joined the Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run staff part-time in November 2005. Before Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run she worked at Kalamazoo College and Western Michigan University and spent six years as a stay-at-home mom. She and her husband, Bob, have two children. Beth enjoys reading, scrapbooking and traveling, and was inspired to run her first 5K in 2004. She loves to see the tangible positive impact on girls and volunteers as they participate each year.

Karen Raseman
Program Coordinator

Karen Raseman is the Girls on Track program coordinator for the Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run. Before joining the staff in August 2008, Karen served as both a Girls on the Run and Girls on Track coach and also volunteered on the operations committee for Girls on the Run. Karen holds a B.S. from Grand Valley State University in elementary education. She taught elementary school before becoming a stay-at-home mom for 3 ½ years.

In her spare time, Karen enjoys baking, volunteering in her children's classes, spending time playing with her boys, and running. Her family includes her husband, Jim, and their three young boys. Karen has been so inspired by Girls on the Run that she completed her first marathon last year and is training for her first ultra.

Anne Guimond
Administrative Assistant

Anne Guimond, our administrative assistant, has been working with Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run since 2006. She loves the opportunity to be involved behind-the-scenes with an organization that provides a solid foundation for the development of girls. Before Girls on the Run, Anne worked in the finance department of a private operating foundation. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton in home economics and from Western Michigan University in dietetics. Anne lives with her husband, Paul, and two daughters. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, singing and photography and she stays active by playing volleyball, riding her bike, and chasing her daughters around the neighborhood.

Carrie Hybels
5k and Special Events Coordinator

Carrie Hybels is the 5k and Special Events Coordinator for Greater Kalamazoo Girls on the Run.  Carrie holds a B.B.A. in Public Accounting from Loyola University of Chicago.  A Runner’s World article about Girls on the Run founder Molly Barker inspired her to volunteer with the Kalamazoo council when it started in 2002 and she has since served as a volunteer at the annual 5k celebration event as well as on the 5k planning committee and as a site liaison for several years. Prior to joining the staff in November 2010, Carrie worked at Gazelle Sports as an Events & Program Coordinator.  Carrie and her husband, Matt, have three children and in her spare time she loves reading, training for triathlons and road races and spending time with her family.

Donna Perry Keller
Administrative Assistant

Donna Perry Keller, administrative assistant, first became involved with Girls on the Run by volunteering at 5K events.  She received both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in middle level education from WMU and taught for eleven years before retiring to stay home with her son and daughter.  In her spare time, she enjoys bird watching and baking, running and reading, and attending her children’s sporting events.  She and her husband, Rob, live with their two children on an acre of wooded paradise in Kalamazoo.
