GOTR Registration Details

Late Registration opens Monday January 8th at noon on a first come, first served basis!

Lottery Registration (11/1/23 - 11/20/23): Each GOTR team may have 8 - 15 participants. If more girls sign up at a site than there is space available, we use an online lottery system to randomly select participants for the team. This helps us to ensure a fair and equal registration process for all.

  • We recommend using a laptop or desktop computer if possible when completing the online registration. Smart phones and tablets often work, but sometimes have issues.
  • Paper registration forms are available in English and Spanish by contacting your school's GOTR Site Liaison or the GOTR office.
  • Please only register your girl for a team if she attends the host school as a student. If your girl does not attend the host school, please contact the school's GOTR Site Liaison and/or the GOTR office (as approval from the school is required).
  • Girls on the Run is for every girl! Financial assistance is available and easy to request during the registration process.
  • You should receive an email confirmation from “notify@pinwheelmail.com” immediately after submitting your participant’s online registration. If you do not receive a confirmation email, check your junk email folder and/or call our office at 269-532-1220.
    • This confirmation email will indicate your participant's status as "Lottery" and does not guarantee a spot in the program. This email simply confirms that your girl’s lottery registration has been received.

Girl Placement Week: December 4th - 8th

All families will receive an update regarding their girl's registration status via email.

  • If your girl is selected in the lottery, you will receive an automated email officially registering her for the program. This email will include additional information about next steps to prepare for the GOTR season.
    • If your participant's team does not have the required coaches, this information will be shared in your placement email. Coach vacancies must be filled prior to the start of the season in order for the team to run for the season.
    • If a team does not have enough girls to meet the team size minimum, we will try to recruit additional girls during late registration. If a team is unable to meet the team size minimum before the start of the season, we will notify you via email.
  • If your girl is not selected in the lottery, you will be notified via personal email.
  • A full refund of any amount paid will be issued if a girl is not placed on a team due to the lottery, not having enough participants, or lack of volunteer coaches.

If you have not received an email by end of day on December 8th, check your junk email folder and/or call our office at 269-532-1220.

True

My girl isn't a big runner; is this program for her? OR My girl is already a skilled runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are much more than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our rich, curriculum-based, age-appropriate, interactive lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing and processing in addition to running at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

When does the season begin?

The Spring 2024 season will begin the week of March 4th. The GOTR 5K event will be held on Saturday, May 18th. Teams will meet for one final celebration practice on either May 20th or May 21st.

Do girls need to attend both days each week in order to register?

Yes! The Girls on the Run curriculum builds upon itself from lesson to lesson. Girls must be able to attend both practices each week for the full 90 minutes. Regular attendance helps your girl to get the most out of the program, be physically and mentally ready for the end of season 5K, and establish important team dynamics.
